Countdown To Radio Cares Radiothon!

• For the past few weeks we have been giving you details about the The Radio Cares: Feeding America Emergency Radiothon, the rapidly growing  one-day fundraising event to benefit Feeding America, which will be heard on hundreds of radio stations from coast to coast this Thursday, April 30, from 12am ET until 11:59pm ET.

Any radio station wishing to participate in this industrywide effort to raise money for Feeding America and its 200-member network of local food banks across the U.S. may sign up online at the organization’s new website, RadioCares.org, which is also where stations may download on-air audio imaging and promotions. All related imaging and branding, including audio promos, sweepers, liner copy, :15, :30 and :60 spots, and a web banner for your website will be provided by Benztown, and the site was developed and is hosted by Vipology.

YEA Networks has donated the use of the URL to the Radio Cares initiative, a new grassroots charitable effort bringing U.S. radio stations and companies together to benefit select charitable causes. All donations go directly to Feeding America. Listeners may donate at RadioCares.org or by texting “Feed” to 95819.

• A nationwide prep call for all interested and participating radio stations will be held today, April 27, at 1pm ET by the Radio Cares committee, which includes Dave “Chachi” Denes of Benztown, Ron Stone of Adams Radio Group, Brian Philips of Cumulus Media, Mike McVay of McVay Media and Chris Peaslee of Vipology.
