CRB’s Rusty Walker & Lisa McKay Scholars
• The Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. (CRB) announced the 2023 Rusty Walker and Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholars. The recipients of this year’s Rusty Walker Scholarship are: Tori D, Marketing Director, KIZN (Kissin’ 92.3)/Boise, ID; Brooke Summers, afternoon host, KFGE (Froggy 98)/Lincoln, NE; and Caitlin Fisher, morning co-host, KWEN (K95.5)/Tulsa, OK.
The Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship recipients are: Liz DelGrosso, morning co-host, KCLR (Clear 99)/Columbia, MO and Chelsea Lee, morning co-Host/Producer/APD, 100.7 KIK-FM/Alexandria, MN.
CRB Scholarship Committee Chairman John Shomby notes, “This is an important part of our work at CRS, bringing new broadcasters to CRS, giving them a chance to network with and learn from some of the best in our business.”
The Rusty Walker Scholarship Program honors the late Rusty Walker, a CRS board member, Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee, influential programmer, consultant, and mentor. The Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship program and honors the late Lisa McKay, who successfully programmed WQDR/Raleigh for 16 years and was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2018. Her namesake scholarship serves to advance younger females pursuing leadership roles in radio programming.
Each recipient will receive complimentary registration, hotel, and airfare for CRS 2023, which runs from Monday, March 13 through Wednesday, March 15.
