Crenshaw Comes Home To Ohio

John Crenshaw makes his triumphant return to his home state of Ohio, hired by North American Broadcasting Company as the new Operations Manager of its Columbus group — WRKZ (99.7 The Blitz), WJKR (103.9 Jack FM) and WMNI-AM 920 (Easy 95.1). Crenshaw’s hire follows last October’s news that 33-year company veteran Hal Fish was stepping away as VP of Programming & Operations and PD of The Blitz at the end of 2021 to assume a consulting role within the company.

Crenshaw (left) was most recently PD of Saga Country WCVL and Classic Rock WWWV/Charlottesville, VA and morning host on WCVL. He’s certainly no stranger to the Columbus market, having notably served as Director of Programming for the Clear Channel cluster from 2005-2012. He was also OM of Community Broadcasters’ Destin-Ft. Walton Beach group, OM of the Cumulus cluster in Youngstown, OH and Regional OM for 10 Cumulus stations in Grand Rapids and Northern Michigan.

Matt Mnich, CEO of North American Broadcasting, said, “We are pleased to have John. He’s a veteran programmer with a proven record of success who knows the market.” Crenshaw said, “Columbus is a fantastic community that I have proudly called home twice before. I’m honored to be associated with North American Broadcasting and a legacy group of stations. My thanks to Matt Mnich, Hal Fish and Brian Dytko for their vote of confidence.”

• Crenshaw’s departure from Charlottesville now creates a morning opening at WCVL (C-Ville Country, 92.7). Can you captivate an audience while having fun at the same time? Do you live the Country lifestyle? Are you such an engaging talent on the air, that your family and friends hang around just so they can listen to you tell stories? Live and local radio is what we do, and Charlottesville is a fantastic place to live. The quality of life is out of sight — think vineyards, mountains, and culture. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t talk at the audience but connects with it. We are searching for someone who loves social media and isn’t afraid to get in front of a camera, someone who enjoys getting to know the listeners and make appearances, and someone who is great with people and willing to be a force in the community.

If you have at least five years of morning show experience, the ability to create impactful promotions, and the operational experience to help this station run like a well-oiled machine, then WE WANT YOU! Qualified candidates are urged to act NOW — send your best stuff to Saga Group PD Scott Chase at schase@sagacom.com. EOE.
