Curtis Media Raleigh Launches Hot AC

• Curtis Media Group Raleigh got busy today and flipped WQDR-AM 570 (and its giant 92.9 translator) from Classic Country to Hot AC as Star 92.9, serving the Raleigh-Durham region. The new station also picked up new calls — WPLW, which are related to sister Top 40 simulcast WWPL/WPLW-FM(Pulse FM 96.9/102.5). Star 92.9 will get off to a strong start in morning drive starting Wednesday with the debut of the Charlotte-based syndicated Bob & Sheri.

Terry Ratliff, GM of Star 92.9 and Pulse, commented, “Our success with Pulse FM 96.9/102.5 led us to launch the new Star 92.9.
