Detroit Upgrade Not Without Strife

• After just over a year as APD/MD and afternoon delight at iHeartMedia Top 40 WZEE (Z104)/Madison, WI, Sean Strife is loading his car with the boxes he never unpacked in the first place in preparation for a momentous move upward to Top 40 sibling WKQI (Channel 95.5)/Detroit. Upon his arrival on Monday Strife will fill the APD/MD/pm drive position most recently occupied by Joe Carballo, who is now anchoring THEjoeSHOW at sister WFLZ/Tampa.

Not too shabby of a major market leap upward for Mr. Strife, who arrived in tropical Madison just last March after a two-year stint as PD of iHeartMedia Top 40 sister KOSY (Hot 95.7)/Cedar Rapids, IA. Before that he worked for iHeartMedia Los Angeles as a Producer for On Air With Ryan Seacrest at KIIS-FM. He also produced the Jesse Lozano in the Morning show and was on-air at Sports-Talk KLAC-AM/Los Angeles. Strife is a native of Boca Raton, FL and began his radio career in Gainesville and at WLDI (WiLD 95.5)/West PalmBeach before moving to L.A. in 2013.

Strife will report to Tony Travatto, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Detroit, who remarked, “Sean has worked hard for years in our company and has earned this opportunity. He will be a programming star!” RAMP also reached out to a very excited Sean Strife, who described his new gig as “A dream come true. Can’t wait to WIN with Tony, Mojo and the rest of the incredible team at WKQI.”
