Ellis Follows His Heart For Service
“Many thanks to Scott Ellis for all of the great work he has done to build both the on-air and online audiences of our stations in southwest Missouri,” said GM Brian Tyndall. “We applaud his heart for service and know he will do great things for our community with his new role at St. Jude.”
Concurrent with the announcement of Ellis’s impending departure, changes have been made to the local programming team — effective immediately, Michael Holmes, PD of Classic Rock KKLH (104.7 The Cave), will add programming duties for Active Rock KQRA (Q102), while Ray Michaels, PD of Country KOMG (105.1 The Bull) will annex PD stripes for Top 40 KOSP (92.9 The Beat).
Prior to returning to Springfield two years ago, Ellis programmed former Audacy Top 40 KNOU (NOW 96.3)/St. Louis. Ellis earlier spent over a decade programming Scripps (now SummitMedia) Top 40 KSPW (Power 96.5)/Springfield, an earlier in his career Ellis held programming roles at KKLR and KJEZ/Poplar Bluff, MO.
