Entercom Realigns Country Shows

• Entercom’s recent “reimagining” of its Alternative and Country formats resulted in some prominent layoffs last week, along with the creation of some new national and regional programming roles. Earlier this week we laid out the Alternative programming structure — now, let’s look at Country’s new personality rollout.

Let’s start in New York, where WNSH (Country 94.7) midday personality Katie Neal is now hosting the Katie & Company midday show across all of the company’s Country stations — with the temporary exception of WDAF (106.5 The Wolf)/Kansas City, the radio flagship of the reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, which will pick up the show after the football season. At the same time, WNSH afternoon jock Jesse Addy annexes the same daypart at WKIS (Kiss Country 99.9)/Miami, as Dina B is upped to morning co-host alongside APD/MD Tim “TC” Conlon, replacing June Knight, who exits after two years.

Next stop: WYCD/Detroit, where afternoon duo Rob Stone and Holly Hutton are now hosting their own nationally distributed night show. To fill that local pm drive gap, current WYCD evening personality Sarah Thomas moves up to afternoons and is paired with Sean “Coop” Tabler, who had been doing middays via remote from Top 40 sister WTDY/Philadelphia. Tabler will also roll solo in afternoons at WDSY (Y108)/Pittsburgh, WLFP (94.1 The Wolf)/Memphis and KMNB (102.9 The Wolf)/Minneapolis.

Also at WDSY/Pittsburgh — Maria D’Antonio moves up from afternoons and joins the Y’d Awake morning show alongside Stoney Richards and Kristen Bucigrossi. The new Katie & Company show is heard in middays. WDSY evening entertainer Elista comes off the air to accommodate the new Rob & Holly show, but remains Asst. Brand Manager/MD and midday personality over on Top 40 WBZZ (100.7 FM Star).

In the Pacific time zone, KSON/San Diego afternoon talent Kimo Jensen is joined by KFRG (K-Frog 95.1)/Riverside midday host Heather Froglear to create a new afternoon team show that will air on KSON and KFRG, as well as KMLE/Phoenix, KKWF (100.7 The Wolf)/Seattle and KWJJ (99.5 The Wolf)/Portland. Current KFRG afternoon jock Anthony Donatelli downshifts to weekends.

And at WPAW (93.1 The Wolf)/Greensboro, NC, which is now running Katie & Company in middays and Rob & Holly at night, PD Clay JD Walker moves from middays to afternoons succeeding Tami Rumfelt, who exited last week during that round of downsizing.
