Executive Action: KERA
• North Texas Public Broadcasting’s KERA, which operates Dallas-Ft. Worth-area NPR affiliate 90.1 KERA, Triple A KXKT (KXT 91.7) and PBS affiliate KERA-TV is pleased to announce Aishah Rashied Hyman has joined the public media organization as Senior Vice President of Development.
“KERA’s essential services have never been more critical to North Texas,” said Nico Leone, President & CEO of KERA. “And key to KERA’s critical services is a strong and engaged membership base. That’s why we are so honored to welcome Aishah to lead our multi-platform Development team through strategic and innovative fundraising initiatives.”
Rashied Hyman most recently worked at non-comm 90.1 WABE/Atlanta, and before that, for Georgia Public Broadcasting. At both organizations, Rashied Hyman launched innovative fundraising strategies that helped her teams exceed revenue and membership goals and win national awards.
From 2013 to 2015, Rashied Hyman served on the PBS Kids Station Leadership Committee, and this year, Public Media Women in Leadership selected Rashied Hyman to be a fellow in the industry’s first CEO/COO Bootcamp. Rashied Hyman is also a founding member of Public Media for All, a coalition of public media professionals and organizations — including KERA — dedicated to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry.
“I’m thrilled to join KERA,” said Rashied Hyman. “Especially at a time when the values of public media are critical to our democracy and the well-being of the people we are here to serve. I feel honored to contribute my experience to an already outstanding organization, and to continue inspiring member engagement and support in the future.”
