Foxx Named Brand Mgr./Mornings At WCBS-FM/NY

• Just days before Scott Shannon‘s Friday retirement from morning drive at Audacy Classic Hits WCBS-FM/New York, Audacy announced that John Foxx will succeed Shannon as the station’s new morning host, starting in February. Foxx will also be named Brand Manager of WCBS-FM, assuming that role from Jim Ryan, who will remain Senior Vice President of Programming for Audacy New York and Brand Manager of WNEW 102.7. Foxx will also continue as Brand Manager of 94.7-HD2 Country New York.

Foxx reports to Chris Oliviero, Market President of Audacy New York, who said, “John is a rare talent that has achieved success on and off the air in New York City, which makes him the perfect selection to lead the legendary WCBS-FM into its next era. He is well known, respected and liked by his colleagues in our building which will make the transition smooth and seamless. John also has big feet which will come in handy as he has some of the biggest shoes to fill in radio history both as morning host and Brand Manager at 101.1FM. We are excited to welcome John home.”

A native New Yorker, Foxx’s 23-year career includes stops as PD/afternoon host at the late WPLJ/New York and Brand Manager of WNSH/New York. Foxx most recently served as Brand Manager of KILT-FM (100.3 The Bull)/Houston and Audacy RVP of Country Programming. A nationwide search is underway to identify his successor.

Foxx remarked, “I’m in love with NYC and the Tri-state area and am really excited to join the content team at the iconic WCBS-FM. Being a part of the soundtrack of what wakes up NYC every day is a dream come true. Thank you to Susan Larkin, Jeff Sottolano, Chris Oliviero and Jim Ryan for all of their support and this incredible opportunity to lead one of Audacy’s elite properties.”Foxx can be congratulated at John.Foxx@audacy.com.
