Free Country, Great Opportunity

Gabby Loielo announced that she’s leaving her position as APD/midday talent at Connoisseur Media Country 99.9 WFRE/Frederick, MD for an opportunity outside of radio. Her last day will be tomorrow, Jan. 18.

Loielo began her career as an intern for WKRZ/Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA. Following a brief stint in middays with WFRB/Cumberland, MD, she joined WFRE as midday host in August of 2017 and added APD stripes a year ago. Loielo remarked, “I’ll miss being a part of the everyday lives of Frederick listeners, but I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity to have gotten to be a part of such a fantastic community. The dedicated team here at WFRE and Connoisseur Media have so much to be proud of, and I can’t wait to hear and see the amazing things that lie in store.”

• WFRE PD Andy Webb said of Loielo, “Over the past 4 1/2 years, Gabby has made an indelible mark on Frederick. She certainly leaves some big shoes to fill, and I can’t wait to see whose feet will fill them. If you love connecting with listeners just by being yourself each & every time you open the mic, and if you have a gift for positively engaging with fans through social media, we’d love to hear from you.”

Loielo’s departure now creates an opportunity for an experienced broadcaster to join the WFRE team. Potential applicants should eat, sleep, and breathe Country music & the Country lifestyle, have at least five years of on-air experience, and be skilled as an effective social & digital media content creator. Video production skills, along with NexGen, Adobe Audition, and vCreative experience are helpful, but not required. Current residents of the D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia areas are strongly preferred. Please send demos & resumes to AndyWebb@connoisseurmd.com, and include “WFRE MIDDAYS” in the subject line. EOE. No calls, please.
