Hadges Ready For What’s Next
• We want to extend our most sincere best wishes to Tommy Hadges, President of Pollack Music & Media Group, who has announced his retirement from the company, effective Dec. 31, 2018. Hadges commented, “My 38 years of working with Jeff has been a dream job, providing an amazing opportunity to both travel the world and to consult some of the most talented programmers in radio, which are experiences I will never forget.”
Jeff Pollack, Chairman/CEO of PMG, remarked, “Working with such a remarkable person and talented programming exec over the years has been truly a gift. Tommy has been an integral part of our success and evolution in the world of radio, TV, film and digital music streaming. Everyone who has had the chance to work with him is better off for it. He remains one of my best friends and now gets to spend more time with his amazing wife, Beth.”
Hadges (pictured here with Beth, watching their beloved New England Patriots) began his radio career working part-time at WOKW-AM in his hometown of Brockton, MA, and later became part of the team that launched the legendary WBCN/Boston in March of 1968. We listened faithfully to WBCN as Hadges worked there on-air until 1978, eventually rising to PD, followed by two years as PD at crosstown WCOZ. In 1980, Hadges was lured west to Los Angeles as PD of KLOS. After five years of consultation by Jeff Pollack, Hadges agreed to join PMG in 1985… and the rest is history.
Reflecting back on his lengthy and successful career, Hadges said, “Celebrating my 70th birthday this year has inspired me to step down now to have more leisure time to goof off with Beth. However, I will be continuing to act as Managing Partner (along with Simon T, Jeff & Bob Demuth) of the three stations we own (as BS&T Wireless) in Aspen, CO, by overseeing the programming at Top 40 KGHT (Hot 100.5), Classic Hits KTND (Thunder 93.5) and Cat Country 93.1 (KGHT-HD2).” Until Dec. 31, Hadges can be reached at tommy@pollackmedia.com.
