Hanrahan Launches CoachedUP

• Veteran programmer and air talent Tom Hanrahan has launched his talent coaching business, “CoachedUP.”

“Talent coaching has always been my passion!” said Hanrahan, whose 38-year programming career notably includes 25 years with iHeartMedia, the last 20 in Birmingham, AL, where he rose to Alabama Area SVP of Programming and PD/afternoon personality (as “Major Tom“) of WDXB (102.5 The Bull) until his departure last year.

He continued, “Talent are the most important asset on our station, but consistently coaching them falls to the bottom of PD’s list of tasks each day. Same for owners and OM’s… everyone is spread so thin that coaching is just an afterthought.”

Commenting on the launch of his new business, Hanrahan said, “CoachedUP is a dream of mine built of decades of experience working one-to-one with talent from all market sizes. I believe you can bring the best out of talent when they’re coached with a positive approach. That doesn’t mean you don’t hold them accountable… you do every step of the way. My goal is to create a safe environment where the talent know they can make mistakes while we work together on building stronger relationships with their listeners with consumer-focused content, proper role work and maximizing shared life experiences.” To learn more about CoachedUP, please visit radiotalentcoaching.com.
