Hanson Enhanced, Adds Cumulus Classic Rock
• Cumulus Media has promoted Troy Hanson to Vice President/Corporate Programming-Rock Formats, adding oversight of the Classic Rock format to Hanson’s current portfolio of Active and Alternative formats. He will continue in his other existing role as VP of Operations for Cumulus Chicago and PD of Alternative 101.1 WKQX.
In making the announcement of Hanson’s added responsibilities, Brian Philips, EVP, Content & Audience, Cumulus Media, noted, “We’re grateful that Troy’s mastery of every rock variant — Alternative, Active and Classic — will enable him to oversee these formats within Cumulus and Westwood One. Troy leads with a well-honed instincts and a big heart.” Marv Nyren, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Chicago, said, “This promotion is well-earned recognition for Troy’s leadership and effectiveness.
