Hanson Held Over At Cumulus
• Troy Hanson and the Cumulus Powers-That-Be have mutually signed a stack of legal-looking documents that will allow Hanson to continue in his important, multi-functional role of VP of Programming-Rock Formats, VP of Operations for Cumulus Chicago and Program Director for WKQX (Q101) for another three years.
The big news of Hanson’s extension was formalized in a staff email from VP/Market Manager Marv Nyren, who said, “Troy brings an incredible amount of experience, work ethic and passion to Cumulus and specifically to our Chicago cluster. I can’t imagine anyone better suited to take us into 2023 and look forward to our continued brand growth with Troy. Please join me in congratulating Troy.”
Hanson has been with the company since 2013, and relocated from the PD post at WNNX (Rock 100.5)/Atlanta to Chicago in June 2015 to annex the Q101 PD role. Hanson previously served as OM for Cromwell Radio Group in Nashville and held programming positions in Duluth, MN; Saginaw, MI; Milwaukee; Des Moines, Detroit and Miami.
