Haze Ready To Turn The Page
• Sending warm holiday wishes to our friend JC Haze, who announced his impending retirement from radio after 44 years, the last 15 years doing weekends/fill-in at Beasley Classic Hits WROR/Boston. His final broadcast is scheduled for Dec. 30.
Haze broke his news in a Facebook post that reads, in part, “I’ve given this lots of thought, and I feel it’s just time to say goodbye. It’s been a great ride… let’s face it, 44 years is a LONG time to do any ONE thing. I’m very lucky. I’ve been able to do something I love for a long, long time…and get PAID to do it.”
Prior to joining WROR in 2007, Haze programmed Oldies WQLL (Cool 96.5)/Manchester, NH — now WMLL (96.5 The Mill). Earlier stops include WKHL (Cool 96.7)/Stamford CT, and WTRY & WPYX/Albany, NY, and Haze got his first big radio break in 1978 with a college internship with Howard Stern at WRNW/Briarcliff Manor, NY!
Haze may be stepping away from radio, but he will remain behind a mic – he will continue to focus on his voiceover business, teach voiceover, and host his long-running syndicated radio show Beatles Weekly. Haze added, “I’ll also continue programming 10 ‘Classic’ radio stations for Gotradio.com, one of the longest existing streaming platforms!” Commenting on his final 10 shows at WROR, Haze said, “I’m doing ALL in my power to NOT go ALL-Beatles & ELO during my shifts.” Send your best regards to Haze at jc@jchaze.com.
