iHeart Honolulu To Swap Star & PoP!

RAMP has learned that iHeartMedia is making final preparations for a significant frequency swap in Honolulu — after 25 years as Star 101.9, the company plans to move the Alternative format on 100,000-watt KUCD to its HD-2 channel and translator K256AS at 99.1, currently the home of the cluster’s amazingly popular Asian Pop channel, PoP! 99.1, which has been showing remarkable growth since its launch in Nov. 2019, playing an array of artists like BTS, Blackpink, XG, Niki, NewJeans, etc.

This swap, slated to happen at 12pm local time on Thursday, week, will officially introduce the new Star 99.1 and increase coverage of the new Pop 101.9 to the entire island of Oahu.
