iHeart Launches ‘Country 100.5’ Rochester

• iHeartMedia was rather busy in Rochester, NY on Monday — at the stroke of 9am, AC WDVI (Mix 100.5) changed format to Country 100.5, “Rochester’s Ten-In-a-Row Country Station,” with its speakers now pointed directly across the street and into the living room of Audacy’s 92.5 WBEE.

“The launch of Country 100.5 marks the dawn of a new era in Rochester radio,” said Robert Morgan, President of iHeartMedia for Upstate New York. “Nobody does Country radio better than iHeartMedia and we are thrilled to be bringing a fresh new sound to the market. This is going to be fun.”

To the shock and surprise of pretty much no one, the new Country 100.5 is running The Bobby Bones Show in morning drive, followed by local personalities all day, including heritage market talent Jeremy Newman (a former 17-year veteran of WBEE) in afternoon drive. PD Julie Dunn is holding down middays and Megan Carter, afternoon co-host across the hall on WAIO (Radio 95.1) is doing 7-midnight, followed by the syndicated Cody Alan from midnight-6am.

“The all-new Country 100.5 brings Nashville straight into the heart of Rochester,” said Jeff Hurley, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia. “Nobody connects you to the biggest stars in country like Bobby Bones, Newman, Julie and the whole Country 100.5 crew. We’re excited to kick the dust up and get this party started!”
