‘Java Joel’ To Program Mix 94.1/Canton

• Alpha Media Canton, OH is proud to announce that “Java Joel” Murphy will be stepping into the role of Content Director and afternoons at Hot AC WHBC (Mix 94.1). He replaces Gabe Carillo, who exited earlier this month.

“We are excited to have Joel to take Mix 94.1 to new levels,” said OM Bo Matthews. “I’m excited about his creativity, passion and tenacity.”

Murphy joins the Alpha Media family after 15 years with iHeartMedia Cleveland, most recently as PD of Top 40 WAKS (96.5 Kiss FM) and Hip Hop WAKS-HD2 (Real 106.1) until last November, when he exited during one of iHeart’s widespread COVID-related layoffs. Previous stops include Chicago, Rochester and Syracuse, NY, and Montreal.
