Jay Cresswell Exits KLUV/Dallas
• Veteran programmer Jay Cresswell has exited Audacy Classic Hits KLUV (98.7 K-LUV)/Dallas after a remarkable 27-year run, the last 7 as PD. Cresswell was also programming ’60s & ’70s Oldies channel KLUV-HD2 and Classic Deep Trax KLUV-HD3 and served as MD at Classic Hits sister WIAD (94.7 The Drive)/Washington, DC.
RAMP caught up with Cresswell, who said, “So many people do not get the opportunity to keep a job that they love for so long. I was offered the chance to stay with the company in another position, which they did not need to do, and I decided to respectfully decline.”
He added, “I got to work with legends like Chuck Brinkman and Ron Chapman, and many other supremely talented professionals. It’s time to take a break from the 24/7/365 and find out what is next. It may or may not be in our industry.”
