JDub On The Loose

• Joe “JDub” Dobbins has exited as PD of SummitMedia Top 40 WWST (Star 102.1) and Rhythmic WKHT (Hot 104.5)/Knoxville, TN. He was also tracking afternoon drive for Hot AC sister WURV/Richmond, VA.

Dobbins shared his news in a Facebook post that reads, in part, “I want to thank my former colleagues for the incredible time in Knoxville. I am officially on the beach, if any radio company is looking for a program director/on-air talent please reach out. Knoxville, it’s been an experience.”

Dobbins arrived in Knoxville in March 2023 after four years with Alpha Media — in Sept. 2019 he was named Content Director and afternoon drive personality for Alpha Media Top 40 WDJX/Louisville. A year later he was furloughed from that gig due to the pandemic and subsequently hired to program sister KFRX/Lincoln, NE.

Earlier in his career Dobbins spent 15 years with Cumulus Top 40 WHOT (Hot 101)/Youngstown in his home state of Ohio, rising to PD/afternoons.
