Jim Kinney Retires From WMGK/Philly

• Beasley Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK/Philadelphia announced the retirement of veteran production and on-air talent Jim Kinney, who had served the station in a variety of capacities for the past 39 years, most recently as commercial production assistant and fill-in on-air talent. His final day at the station was Friday, May 12.

Kinney was originally hired at what was then Magic 103 in 1984 by former Program Director Bob Craig. Kinney earlier programmed WWKS/Beaver Falls, PA; WTUE/Dayton, OH; WYDD/Pittsburgh and WMAD/Madison, WI.

“Jim has been the ‘Rock’ in Classic Rock 102.9MGK for 39 years,” said Bill Weston, Beasley VP of Talent Development and PD of WMGK & WMMR. “In every role, he has embodied professionalism, kindness and respect for all of us fortunate enough to work with him.”
