Joey Tack Wakes Up In Indy

Joey Tack, former PD of Bonneville Country KNCI/Sacramento, has officially arrived at his new destination: exotic Indianapolis, Indiana, where he is the newly named APD and morning co-host at Emmis Country WLHK (97.1 Hank FM).

While the APD stripes are a newly installed feature, Tack now plugs in across from co-host Mindy Winkler to create the all-new Joey & Mindy morning show, starting Sept. 7. He succeeds Caleb James, who left in July. As we reported earlier this year, Tack elected not to renew his deal with KNCI/Sacramento after two years and left on July 1, intending to relocate further east to be closer to family in Knoxville and the Quad Cities. Indianapolis seems to fill the bill nicely.

Tack previously spent 15 years with SummitMedia Rhythmic Top 40 WKHT (Hot 104.5)/Knoxville, the last five as PD, and before that put in 5+ years with iHeartMedia’s WLLR and the former WHTS/Quad Cities, IA-IL — where he first crossed paths with Ryan Wild, now PD of Hank FM. Small world, indeed. As Wild told RAMP, “Joey is the most creative guy I have ever worked with, and he will no doubt be a valuable part of the HANK-FM Family as we move forward.” Joey Tack can now be reached at JTack@indy.emmis.com.
