Johnson Circles Back To Pensacola

• Proving the old adage that yes, you can go home again, RAMP has confirmed that, after a 16-month side-trip outside of radio, Glenn Johnson has returned to his former position as Operations Manager of Cumulus Media’s Pensacola, FL cluster, succeeding Tim Murphy. This time, however, Johnson will also assume PD duties for Country 102.7 WXBM. The group also includes AC WMEZ (Soft Rock 94.1), Classic Hits WJTQ (Jet 100.7), News-Talk WCOA-AM 1370/FM 104.9 and Urban AC WRRX (Magic 106.1).

As we reported back in Oct. 2021, Johnson had earlier served as OM in Pensacola for two years and change before resigning for a position with Danny Lipford and Today’s Homeowner Media, the Mobile, AL-based parent company of the Emmy-nominated Today’s Homeowner television show, companion syndicated radio show and TodaysHomeowner.com.

Prior to his last stint in Pensacola, Johnson spent four years in Nashville, first as Executive Producer of what was then America’s Morning Show with Blair Garner, and later, the now-former Ty Bentli Show. Johnson, the artist formerly known as “QTip,” notably spent a decade in the Mobile market, co-hosting mornings on Cumulus Top 40 WABD, and before that, Dittman Broadcasting’s late, legendary WABB. He also worked at WYOK/Mobile from 2004-2006.

You can welcome Mr. Johnson back into the building at his newly reactivated email address: Glenn.Johnson@cumulus.com.
