Jon Smith On The Loose

• Back on Nov. 30, Broadway Media Salt Lake City reportedly downsized as many as 12 people in the building during a painful bout of 4th quarter restructuring. One of those adversely affected is Jon Smith, APD/MD and midday personality on Alternative KXRK (X96), who is now seeking his next opportunity. Smith is SLC-born and raised, and has been doing radio for the past 22 years. He started at the former KENZ (107.5 The End) and went on to work in Southern Utah and Las Vegas.

RAMP caught up with Smith, who maintained his usual upbeat persona as he told us, “I’ve been a fan of [PD] Todd Nuke’Em and X96 since I was in Jr. High, and that won’t change. It’s been a HUGE honor for me to have been a part of it, and we’ll stay friends.”

For now, Smith is keeping his chops up working part-time at Bonneville Classic Rock KRSP (103.5 The Arrow) while he weighs his options. He can now be reached at 801-502-8594 or eljonsmith@gmail.com.
