Jones Named OM Of Stephens Media Spokane

Kent Jones, best known for his three decades at the helm of Tyler Media Classic Hits KOMA/Oklahoma City, has relocated to the Pacific Northwest, joining Stephens Media Group Spokane, WA as Operations Manager of Classic Hits KEYF (Key 101), Adult Hits KBBD (103.9 Bob FM), Country KDRK (93.7 The Mountain), Top 40 KBZD (105.7 Now FM), Sports/Hip-Hop KGA (103.5 The Game) and Classic Rock KJRB-AM & FM (94.1 The Bear). Jones will also serve as PD of KEYF and KBBD and do mornings on KEYF.

Jones famously programmed KOMA/OKC for 31 years and hosted the top-rated Lisa and Kent morning show until his departure in January. In making the formal introduction, Stephens Media Group SVP of Programming Bob Thornton said, “Kent has been an independent contractor for us over the past four years, so this feels a little bit like a promotion from within. Kent has been a key part of our family already, which made this decision a no-brainer. His success in both morning drive and programming made him an incredible candidate for this position.”

Jones commented, “The opportunity to join Stephens Media Group and move to Spokane is very exciting. This is a great group of stations and I’m looking forward to working with the team here. Radio is such a fun business and this is a beautiful part of the country. I’m really going to enjoy being here.” The new gig puts Jones and his wife, Barbara within driving distance of their daughter, Melanie, who lives in Seattle.
