JVC Launches Country Fresh Radio
• JVC Broadcasting announced the launch of Country Fresh Radio (CFR), described as “a new, nationally syndicated Country radio show designed to spotlight brand-new releases from both established country superstars and emerging artists ready for broader exposure.”
Airing weekly in a focused two-hour format, and hosted by JVC veterans Murphdawg and Phathead, Country Fresh Radio gives labels and artists a dedicated, appointment-listening platform for new music at a time when traditional playlists leave limited room for adds. CFR curates fresh releases into one consistent window, creating meaningful exposure without competing with stations’ core rotations.
“There’s a lot of great music that doesn’t always get the immediate runway it deserves,” said Murphdawg, midday talent on JVC Country WJVC/Long Island. “Country Fresh Radio is built to give new songs a real moment — not just a spin, but a spotlight.” Phathead, longtime WJVC PD/morning host, added, “Labels are looking for places where new music actually gets heard, not buried. CFR is about discovery, context, and momentum — helping listeners connect with songs and artists early.”
Current CFR affiliates include: WJVC/Long Island • WXUS/Ocala, FL • WYGC/Gainesville, FL • WHWY/Fort Walton Beach, FL • WRXB/Panama City Beach, FL & WCTY/Norwich, CT, with additional affiliates in active development. Country Fresh Radio is now accepting new music submissions and label partnerships as it expands its national footprint.
