• At long last… we initially reported this news in early January, and now… the official press release has arrived, formally announcing David Kane as the new SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Modesto/Stockton, CA group and PD of AC KJSN (Sunny 102.3) and Active Rock KMRQ (Rock 96.7)/Modesto. He reports directly to Jeff Hurley, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group — Community Division.
The move is a homecoming forKane, who grew up in California’s Central Valley and recently transferred back after two years as PD of KZCH (Channel 96.3) and AC KRBB (B98)/Wichita.
Kane began his radio career in 1991 doing nights at Urban KTAA/Kerman-Fresno, working his way up to MD. He programmed Rhythmic KQEQ-AM from 1994-1999 and Art Laboe‘s KKPW-turned KOKO-FM from 1999-2006. From 2006-2010 Kane worked for CBS Radio Fresno as APD/Imaging Director for KMGV, KWYE and KFJK. For the next eight years Kane worked for iHeartMedia Fresno as regional APD, scheduling music for Rhythmic KBOS (B95) and Rhythmic AC KFBT/Fresno, Urban AC KOCN/Monterey and R&B Oldies KQOD/Stockton. In 2018 he earned the transfer to Wichita.
“It’s been fantastic to be able to return home in this leadership role,” Kane said. “I grew up in Central California and I’m very familiar with all of our brands throughout the region. These are exciting times and I’m honored to be part of it — thank you iHeartMedia.”
