KBAY Officially Expands To 98.5
• We initially mentioned this Bay Area frequency move last week, but now it’s official… with quotes and everything…
Effective immediately, Connoisseur Media’s 94.5 KBAY (Bay Country)/San Jose is expanding its reach by adding the 98.5 FM signal, significantly increasing coverage across the South Bay and surrounding communities.
KBAY’s format will now reside on 98.5 FM, the former home of Classic Rock sister KUFX (98.5 K-Fox)/San Jose. During this transition period, KBAY will continue to simulcast on its longtime 94.5 frequency until the previously announced sale of that signal to K-LOVE, Inc. is completed. Bay Country will retain its existing simulcast partner on 92.1 KKDV/Walnut Creek, CA. All of which explains this temporary logo.
“Expanding Bay Country to 98.5 is an investment in both our listeners and our advertising partners,” said Brian “Fig” Figula, Regional Operations Manager. “This gives KBAY the stronger signal and broader reach the brand deserves while preserving everything our audience already loves about the station.”
The good news: All of KBAY’s current on-air personalities will remain in place. As part of the transition, KUFX will continue as K-FOX Classic Rock, available on KUFX-HD2, KMVQ-HD3/San Francisco, and online through Super Hi-Fi.

The station expansion will be accompanied by several programming leadership changes across Connoisseur Media’s West Coast markets, TBA shortly.
