KCAL Now Rocks Harder

• Anaheim Broadcasting Rock KCAL/Riverside, CA announces several significant programming and personnel changes, starting with Nikki Preston, who takes over the 9am-2pm slot beginning Thursday, August 30. Ms. Preston (left) is no stranger to the market — or the building — she spent several years as morning show producer for sister station KOLA 99.9 before heading down to San Diego to work for Entercom. She previously worked in Las Vegas and Rochester, NY.

Preston said, “I’m super amped to be back rockin’ the Inland Empire and getting the opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented group of people.”

• And there’s more — longtime KCAL Promotion Director/part-time personality Brandon “4orty” Kessel (right) has been upped to Music Director and morning co-host, joining Patrick Tish (left) on the Tons Of Rock In The Morning show. “This has been a goal of mine for many years now,” said Kessel. “I’m pumped to be added to the morning show with Patrick, especially here in my hometown.” Tish commented, “I give credit to our management for seeing the potential of Brandon and myself in the mornings — together we can usher in a new era of mornings here on KCAL.” Kessel can be reached at brandon@kcalfm.com.

• These changes lead to one more, as Promotions Coordinator Laura Dover is upped to Promotions Director. Hit her up at laura@kcalfm.com.

KCAL PD/afternoon talent Daryl Norsell said, “I’m incredibly excited about the new additions to our on-air family. Nikki and 4orty are both really talented, and dedicated to making fun radio. KCAL is on a great roll right now, and with the team all set we’re ready to kill it!”
