Kenny Jay Annexes The Wolf
• Stay tuned for the official word, but RAMP has already gone ahead and confirmed with Entercom that Kenny Jay, PD of Country WUSN (US99)/Chicago has annexed bonus programming responsibilities for Country sister KMNB (102.9 The Wolf)/Minneapolis, succeeding Lucas Phelan, who exited last week. He will remain based in Chicago.
The Twin Cities’ assignment is certainly familiar territory ground for Jay, who originally joined KMNB (then BUZ’N @ 102.9 under previous owner CBS Radio) as APD in Dec. 2012 and was upped to the PD chair in Oct. 2014 after Rob Morris transferred to Miami. In January 2016 Jay transferred to Seattle as PD of CBS Radio Country KMPS and later presided over its December 2017 flip to Soft AC as KSWD (94.1 The Sound) after the Entercom sale. He was named PD of WUSN in Jan. 2018.
Earlier in his career Jay programmed Alpha Media’s WUBB (Bob 106.9)/Savannah, GA and held on-air and programming positions for Mid-West Family Broadcasting in Madison and La Crosse, WI.
