KIRO Changes The Station
• Bonneville’s KIRO Newsradio, 97.3/Seattle announced two changes to its on-air lineup — 1) Jack Stine and Spike O’Neill will anchor the noon-3pm timeslot starting Monday, August 14, and 2) Jake Skorheim is now hosting KIRO Nights, effective last night. (Left to right): Stine, O’Neill and Skorheim.
Stine and O’Neill have been hosting the noon-3pm show on an interim basis since February. The new show will be called… wait for it... “The Jack and Spike Show.” Stine got his start in podcasting and YouTube before joining KIRO in 2020 as a fill-in host. He took over KIRO Nights in 2021, which he produced himself, and took that show to No. 1. O’Neill has been a Seattle radio fixture since the ’90s, famously co-hosting The Bob Rivers Show on KISW, KZOK and KJR-FM for 25 years, where he served as sportscaster, writer, impressionist, interviewer, and commenter.
Skorheim started at Bonneville Seattle in 2008 as producer for The David Boze Show on KTTH. In 2009 he moved to KIRO, serving as Dori Monson‘s producer until 2016. His new show is called “KIRO Nights with Jake Skorheim.”
“I’m thrilled about these new shows, and I hope our audience will be too,” said Bryan Buckalew, Director of News & Talk Programming for Bonneville Seattle. “Listeners can expect dynamic conversations based on the top news stories of the day, keeping our community informed and entertained.”
Cathy Cangiano, SVP/Market Manager of Bonneville Seattle echoed that sentiment, commenting, “We are excited to have Jack, Spike, and Jake join our KIRO Newsradio lineup. They are all talented personalities who will provide our listeners with the best in local news, information, and entertainment.”
