Knight Earns Programming Stripes At CMG/JAX

• Cox Media Group Jacksonville promotes from within and elevates Shawn Knight to Asst. Director of Branding & Programming for Urban AC WHJX (Hot 106.5).

Knight, who recently graduated from the prestigious Morehouse College with a BA in Business Administration will support day-to-day programming and the execution of marketing, promotions, events, and sales campaigns while continuing to host afternoon drive on Hot 106.5 and middays on Urban Power 106.1 (WJGL-HD2/W291CI).

Knight joined CMG Jacksonville in January 2025, arriving from Topeka, KS, where he was morning co-host on Cumulus AC KMAJ. Before that he was Asst. Brand Manager/afternoon talent at Townsquare Urban AC KISX/Tyler, TX. Knight’s resume includes a five-year run with Davis Broadcasting Urban AC WKZJ/Columbus, GA, preceded by a decade in his hometown of Chicago, where he was a Programming Asst./on-air at Crawford Broadcasting’s WSRB & WPWX (Power 92) and a Promotions Asst. at iHeartMedia Urban WGCI. He began his radio career at Kennedy-King College’s WKKC.
