KNX News Tackles Fentanyl Crisis

• Amid an unprecedented crisis of teen overdoses, Audacy’s KNX News (97.1 FM/1070 AM)/Los Angeles will present a live town hall tomorrow, Nov. 29, called “Deadly High: Teens and Fentanyl.”

Fueled by social media distribution networks, fentanyl has killed more than 1,600 people in Los Angeles County alone in the last year, sparking urgent warnings from local and federal officials. Vicky Moore and Mike Simpson, hosts of LA’s Morning News on KNX, will be joined by Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Superintendent Alberto Carvalho along with survivors, experts, and dozens of local students to separate fact from misinformation for parents and teens desperate for answers.

“There is no issue more pressing for the communities we serve,” said Jeff Federman, Regional President of Audacy Southern California. “Fentanyl is killing our kids, and we want to use our agenda-setting KNX News platform to make sure teens and parents are aware of the dangers.”

The one-hour event will be broadcast live on KNX News 97.1, the Audacy app, and on video at KNXNews.com tomorrow, Nov. 29, starting at 5pm PT.
