KQRS Hits The Big 5-0!

• Tomorrow, September 25, 2018 marks a very special milestone in the lifecycle of Cumulus Classic Rock KQRS/Minneapolis — the station’s 50th anniversary! KQRS cordially invites you to mark this golden celebration on Tuesday with a daylong tribute, titled, “Celebrating The History of 92.5 All Day on 9/25.”

According to OM/PD Scott Jameson, who also serves as Cumulus VP of Classic Rock, the staff has been planning for this big day for months. “Tomorrow is the day KQRS celebrates 50 years of rockin’ the Twin Cities, and the station plans a full day of activities, including former jocks returning for on-air segments, classic audio from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s and special guests on the long-running KQ Morning Show with Tom Barnard,” Jameson told RAMP, adding, “Tomorrow’s celebration is all about KQ listeners — we are so fortunate to have generations of fans who have supported us for decades, and this is a way to recognize their loyalty as well as an opportunity to showcase the terrific talent that has been a part of KQRS since 1968.”

The countless fans of KQRS, the music, the artists and the air personalities are formally invited to participate in this special celebration, no matter where you are in the world, and stream all of the festivities live at 92KQRS.com.

And there’s one more reason to celebrate — on Saturday night, market legend Tom Barnard, who has hosted The KQ Morning Show since 1986, was inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame at the Pavek Museum in Minneapolis.
