KTI Country Gone Wild

E.W. Scripps’ WKTI (94-5 KTI Country)/Milwaukee has named Ryan Wild as its new Program Director, effective July 5. The position has been open since Dayton Kane returned to Green Bay last fall. Wild will segue from NRG Media in Omaha, where he is currently FM Operations Manager of Hot AC KQKQ (Sweet 98.5), Rhythmic KOPW (Power 106.9) and Adult Hits KOOO (101.9 The Keg). Just weeks ago, he led the return of the iconic Sweet 98.5 moniker to the market.

“We’re very fortunate to have someone of Ryan’s experience on so many levels,” said Tom Langmyer, who doubles as VP/GM of Scripps Milwaukee Radio Operations and VP of Radio News, Talk & Sports Programming for The E.W. Scripps Company. “Because KTI Country is a live and local station with a full airstaff, we needed a real leader who will not only keep the music sounding the best, but very importantly, create a greater overall ‘listener experience’ and a deeper connection with Wisconsin’s Country community.” He added, “Growing WKTI using our deep resources is very exciting — and we’re thrilled to have Ryan take the new KTI Country to… [brace yourself]… the next level™ as a bigger-than-life station.”

Prior to landing in Omaha in Oct. 2015, Wild spent six years as OM/PD of WZSR & WFXF in suburban Chicago. Wild previously programmed KCCQ & KASI/Des Moines, IA and WXLP & KBOB/Quad Cities, IL-IA. Wild commented, “I’m thankful for the dream opportunity Tom Langmyer and the team at Scripps have given me to program KTI Country. There’s so much potential, not only on the air, but also with a full team ready to grow and build something magical and lasting. I can’t wait to get to work and start building the future of KTI Country.” He paused, and added, “I was also told there would be plenty of beer and cheese at all times, so I was all in.” Wild can be congratulated at wildonair@gmail.com.
