LABF Loves Parenti & Chachi

• The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) is pleased to announce that Deborah Parenti and Dave “Chachi” Denes have been elected as the new Co-Chairs of the organization, effective Jan. 1. They will succeed current Co-Chairs Heidi Raphael, Beasley Chief Communications Officer and Jack Goodman, long-time D.C.-based Communications Attorney, who will be completing their five-year commitment.

In a joint statement, Raphael and Goodman said, “Serving as Co-Chairs of the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation has been an incredible honor, and we are proud to pass the torch to Deborah and Chachi. Their passion, leadership, and creativity will ensure the LABF continues to preserve and celebrate our industry’s rich history while inspiring future generations. We know their dedication will strengthen the Foundation’s mission to honor broadcasting’s legacy and advance its future.”

Parenti (left), who joined the LABF Board in 2021, is the Publisher of Radio Ink and Radio + Television Business Report and a 2023 inductee into the Radio Hall of Fame. Denes (right), who joined the LABF Board in 2021 and most recently served on its Executive Committee, is President & Co-Founder of Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, production libraries, jingles, voiceover, and podcasting services, and produces the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 Countdown and Sunday Night Slow Jams with R Dub! to name a few.

Additional Board Updates: The LABF is pleased to welcome Hope Media Group President Tim Dukes and Entravision President/CEO Jeff Liberman, who have been elected to the Board of Directors.

The organization also extends its sincere appreciation to past longtime Board Chair and Hubbard Radio Chair/CEO Ginny Hubbard, who will transition from the Executive Committee while continuing to serve as a valued member of the Board, and recognizes longtime Board member Jeff Smulyan, CEO of Emmis, and Dan Spears, BMI VP of Industry Relations and Licensing, who are concluding their Board terms after years of dedicated service to the Foundation.

LABF Executive Committee members elected to additional two-year terms include Heather Birks, Harry Jessell, Jim Morley, Heidi Raphael, Joyce Tudryn and Dennis Wharton, while Katz Television President Leo MacCourtney has been elected to serve as Treasurer of the organization.
