Lincoln Has A Bone To Pick
• After nearly a decade as a Classic Hits station, NRG Media’s KLNC (105.3 WOW! FM)/Lincoln, NE kicked off a new era for the frequency, cranking up the format knob to Classic Rock and rebranding as 105.3 The Bone. We are told that the brand new Bone will feature an updated version of Classic Rock, including titles from the late ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, along with a tasteful dollop of newer Classics of the ’90s and ‘2000s. The station’s main focus will remain on the 35-64 demographic, which includes baby boomers and Gen-Xer’s.
Surveying his handiwork, OM/PD Steve King said, “Lincoln is a VERY Classic Rock market. The Classic Rock format has grown to have great mass appeal, as it touches all demographics with Men and Women from 12-64+. Moving this direction with this frequency was a no-brainer.”
King has graciously volunteered to drive you home on The Bone weekday afternoons from 3-7pm, and Jill Marshall will do middays, in addition to her regular role as PD/afternoon personality on AC sister KBBK (B107.3).
