Lisa McKay Scholarship Window Open
• The Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) announced the opening of the application period to apply for the Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship, which was established to honor the memory of the late Lisa McKay, a 2018 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee who was known for her mentorship of young female radio talent during her illustrious 16-year career at WQDR/Raleigh.
Three promising female radio programmers will be awarded scholarship packages that include complimentary registration, hotel accommodation, and airfare to attend CRS 2024, scheduled for Feb. 28-Mar. 1, 2024, at the Omni Nashville Hotel. The recipients will also be publicly acknowledged at CRS 2024.
CRB Executive Director RJ Curtis comments, “We are honored to continue this empowering scholarship program for 2024. The program not only pays tribute to Lisa McKay’s legacy but also provides emerging female talents in radio with a platform to elevate their careers through education, networking, and discovery at CRS.”
Eligible candidates must be either a female College Senior majoring in broadcast communications with an involvement in radio programming or a female with one to three years of experience in the radio business as a Program Director, Assistant Program Director, or Music Director. The candidate must also be a first-time CRSattendee. Candidates who meet these criteria are invited to fill out the online application here and submit an essay, not exceeding 500 words, detailing why they deserve to be considered for this unique opportunity.
