Long-Range Charleston Forecast: Chili
• Chili Walker has been tapped as the new Operations Manager/Program Director of LM Communications’ Active Rock WYBB (98 Rock) and Triple A WCOO (105.5 The Bridge)/Charleston, SC. He succeeds Ken Carson, who recently announced his retirement from fulltime radio to battle prostate cancer.
Walker earns the transfer to Charleston, SC after seven years with LM Communications in Charleston, WV, where he programmed Mainstream Rock WKLC (Rock 105) and Classic Hits simulcast WMXE (Mix 100.9)/Charleston and WWQB (Mix 102.3)/Huntington, WV. He will continue to oversee those stations on a regional basis. Walker previously programmed WQBK/Albany, NY, WOTT/Watertown, NY and WWDX/Lansing, MI.
In making the announcement, Lynn Martin, President & CEO of LM Communications said, “Chili did a great job for us in West Virginia and he’s bringing a new level of operations expertise to our South Carolina market. I have no doubt that he will continue to grow 98 Rock and 105.5 The Bridge in South Carolina.” Walker said, “I’m excited to continue my work for LM Communications, and I’m thankful this promotion and transfer allows me to stay in the family. I’m anxious to work with our South Carolina team and connect with the Charleston, SC market.”
