Louie Diaz Earns Cumulus VP Stripes

• Cumulus Media has promoted Louie Diaz to Vice President/Contemporary for the Cumulus Radio Station Group, overseeing programming on the company’s Mainstream and Rhythmic Top 40 stations. Diaz, who joined Cumulus in 2014 and arrived in Atlanta in November 2016, will continue as Operations Manager for Cumulus Media Atlanta and PD of Top 40 WWWQ (Q100), the flagship of the syndicated The Bert Show.

In making the announcement, Mike McVay, EVP, Content & Programming, for Cumulus Media and Westwood One, said, “This move recognizes the success that our company has had with Louie Diaz — first in Dallas [at KLIF (Hot 93.3)], then in D.C. [at WRQX (Mix 107.3)], and now in Atlanta. We’re excited to have him join the team in the Office of Programming at Cumulus Media.”

Diaz commented, “From the moment I started my career (at the age of 16) at WPLJ/New York, I knew I’d found my passion for radio. I’m very excited to work with the best personalities and programmers in the country. I want to thank Mary Berner and Mike McVay for this great opportunity, and I especially want to thank Atlanta Market Manager Sean Shannon for allowing me to expand my horizons. It is a real honor to be a part of this great team at Cumulus Media.”
