MacKay Named Pres., WABC Long Island
Catsimatidis said, “Frank MacKay has longstanding knowledge of Long Island media, government, and politics, which will be an asset to this station. We are excited to expand and enhance 77 WABC Radio’s presence on Long Island.” 77 WABC has been on the airwaves in the Tri-State area for the past 100 years.
Frank MacKay has been a longtime fixture on television and radio. After becoming involved in the independent Presidential candidacy of Ross Perot in 1992, MacKay was elected Chairman of the New York State Independence Party at age 32, the youngest ever in New York State history to serve as the Chairman of a State political party. MacKay would be elected twelve times to the position, helping the Independence Party grow its influence and statewide prominence for three decades.
MacKay is also the author of eight published books, holds a Master’s Degree from SUNY Stony Brook and in 2008 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Five Towns College. [Photo courtesy of 77 WABC Radio]
