Matthews Ready To Wrangle Sacto’s Bull

Chris Matthews has been named Program Director and afternoon drive personality for iHeartMedia Country KBEB (92.5 The Bull)/Sacramento. Matthews transitions from Entercom Country KMLE/Phoenix, where he was most recently APD/MD and morning co-host. “We were looking for a creative thinker to take ownership and grow the Bull brand,” said Curtiss Johnson, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Sacramento. “Someone who is a PD and entertainer with deep roots in the Country community. Chris Mathews is that guy. I have no doubt he will put 92.5 The Bull front and center in the minds of Sacramento Country fans.”

Matthews joined KMLE in June 2014 as APD/MD and midday personality, coming from the Director of Marketing and Promotions post at Cumulus Media Tucson. He was upped to morning co-host in early 2016. Commenting on his sweet new gig, Matthews said, “I’m thrilled to get to work with the amazing team at iHeartMedia Sacramento. There is a two-ton buckin’ Bull ready to dominate the Sacramento airwaves and I can’t wait to open the chute!”

Matthews succeeds Bryan “B-Dub” Washington, who recently transferred to the PD post at new iHeart Country cousin KWBL (106.7 The Bull)/Denver, but remains with KBEB in spirit as he continues to track the night show.
