• Max Media of Hampton Roads promotes from within and elevates market veteran Jay West to Operations Manager of the Hampton Roads cluster. He succeeds Mike “Moose” Smith, who recently exited.

“I’m very excited to announce Jay West’s promotion to Operations Manager,” said Keith Barton, VP/Market Manager, Max Media of Hampton Roads. “Jay’s exceptional leadership skills and deep understanding of our industry make him the ideal candidate to lead our team. We are confident that his strategic vision and passion for excellence will drive continued success for this cluster of stations.”

Originally from Chicago, West has been a fixture in afternoon drive in Hampton Roads since the mid-’90s. Before rejoining Max Media in January 2020 as afternoon drive personality (and eight weeks later, Brand Manager) of AC WTWV (92.9 The Wave), West’s career took him to WIOQ & WBEB/Philadelphia, the late KNRJ/Houston, WKSE/Buffalo, WLUM/Milwaukee and KIVA/Albuquerque, NM.

“The Max Media cluster in Hampton Roads is poised for greater successes,” West remarked. “Our brands are focused, and I’m elated to have the privilege to lead this extraordinary team for Keith Barton.”
