‘Mazz’ Adds NESN/Red Sox TV Gig
• Beasley announced that Tony Massarotti, half of the award-winning Felger & Mazz show weekday afternoons on WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub)/Boston since 2009, will add TV color commentating duties for NESN during the upcoming Boston Red Sox Season.
The move makes perfect sense — Massarotti has been covering Boston sports for over 30 years. From 1994-2008, he was the Red Sox beat writer for the Boston Herald, where he covered the team’s 2004 and 2007 World Series championships. He’s also the co-author of Big Papi: My Story of Big Dreams and Big Hits with Hall of Famer David Ortiz, and Knuckler: My Life with Baseball’s Most Confounding Pitch, written with Tim Wakefield.
“Tony Massarotti has an extensive background covering Red Sox and has established himself as the premier voice of baseball on Boston’s radio airwaves,” said Mary Menna, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Boston. “His background and baseball knowledge makes him a great catch for NESN.”
