McIntosh Upped To PD @ KGSR

McIntosh Emily colorBig news out of Emmis Austin Triple A mainstay KGSR — MD/midday personality Emily McIntosh has been duly upgraded from “interim” to permanent PD. She officially succeeds Haley Jones, who recently relocated to the Bay Area with her husband, Bryan Schock, PD of Cumulus Media’s KSAN (107.7 The Bone) and KFOG/San Francisco.

In a staff memo announcing McIntosh’s elevation, Chase Rupe, VP of Programming & Operations and Director, Special Projects said, “Emily has done an outstanding job over the past five months running our heritage venerable Triple A brand, and we look forward to her continued success in this very important role. Please join me in congratulating Emily!”

McIntosh has been in the Emmis Austin building since 2014, initially working on-air at Alternative sister KROX. She was named MD/air talent at KGSR in October 2015. McIntosh got her first radio break at Kansas State’s student-run radio station, KSDB (91.9 The Wildcat) from 2009-2011 and later worked for Manhattan Broadcasting’s KXBZ and KACZ/Manhattan, KS until moving to Austin. RAMP caught up with a jubilant McIntosh, who told us, “KGSR is Austin. To be an integral part of an incredible brand, with such a storied history, in my favorite city is a dream-come-true. I’m pinching myself daily.” McIntosh can be congratulated at emily@kgsr.com.
