McNally Ready To Drive Knoxville Home
• We teased this news last week, and now, thanks to the miracle of a formal press release, it’s now official: Sean “Mac” McNally debuts in afternoon drive today on Cumulus Country 107.7 WIVK/Knoxville, TN. He steps into the rather large boots of market legend Ted “Gunner” Ousley, who retired last week after a 30-year market run, the last 25 at WIVK.
Jeff Jarnigan, OM of Cumulus Knoxville, said, “The fact that Gunner, who has dominated the landscape in PM drive here for many years, heavily endorsed Mac as his replacement says a lot about Mac. Gunner loves his audience and wanted to make sure it was in the best possible hands moving into the future. Mac loves East Tennessee and I have no doubt East Tennessee will love him right back.”
McNally started his radio career in 2008 in his hometown of Richmond, IN, and later served as PD/morning host for Brewer Broadcasting Country WPLZ (Cat Country)/Chattanooga, TN until it flipped to Classic Hits in late 2015. He joined WIVK to do nights in May 2016.
WIVK PD Rich Bailey commented, “Mac and I have worked together since 2019. I’ve been impressed with his talent and work ethic over the past five years, and I look forward to working with Mac as he builds on the incredible success of Gunner.”
McNally exclaimed, “I couldn’t be more excited and honored to take the afternoon reins at the legendary WIVK. It’s truly a dream come true for me to be a part of this iconic brand. And to follow a friend and legend like Gunner on the station means the world.”
