Mel McKay Rules The Far East Bay

• Congratulations are in order for Mel McKay, who has been officially been promoted to Operations Manager/Content Director for Alpha Media AC duo 101.7 KKIQ/Pleasanton, CA & 95.3 KUIC/Vacaville, CA. She succeeds Jim Hampton, who announced his retirement after a remarkable 36 years with Alpha Media Far East Bay.

Ms. McKay brings several decades of experience in radio and programming during a career has taken her from “town to town and up and down the dial,” including mornings and APD/MD at KLUC and KMZQ/Las Vegas, KMYI/San Diego and mornings at KMVK/Dallas.

McKay joined Alpha Media Far East Bay in Feb 2016 as Traffic Reporter on KKIQ and midday talent on KKDV/Walnut Creek (now simulcasting KBAY/San Jose‘s Bay Country programming). In March 2020 McKay was upped to solo morning host on KKIQ; In April 2021 she was elevated to Promotions Manager for KKIQ & KUIC, culminating in her current promotion to OM/Content Director for KKIQ & KUIC.
