Milwaukee’s 88Nine Names Web Editor

• Veteran music journalist Evan Rytlewski has been named as Web Editor of Milwaukee Radio Alliance non-comm Triple A WYMS (88Nine Radio Milwaukee)/Milwaukee. Rytlewski (left) segues from the Shepherd Express, where he has served as Music Editor for the past 13 years, covering all corners of the Milwaukee music scene. He has also been a regular contributor to Pitchfork, which has published a bunch of his features and more than 100 album reviews. His work has also appeared in Paste, Under the Radar, American Songwriter and Rap-Up magazines. Before working for the Shepherd, Rytlewski was a longtime and prolific contributor to the national A.V. Club.

In Rytlewski’s new role as 88Nine’s Web Editor, he will be the primary feature writer for RadioMilwaukee.org, spearheading the site’s monthly “showcase” stories that dig more deeply into one topic or issue. He will also edit the work of other contributors. “Adding such an experienced writer steeped in the Milwaukee music scene really ups our digital game,” said Nate Imig, 88Nine Director of Content. “Evan has built a stellar reputation as a thoughtful and talented music writer and journalist. Evan’s work will help us offer even more breadth to the thousands who visit our website every week.” RadioMilwaukee.org and its content have won numerous honors, including the Milwaukee Press Club’s top award for Best Website Design in 2018.
