‘Morning Mess,’ Minus One

• Earlier this week, Joey Boy, a founding member of The Morning Mess, based at Audacy Top 40 WBBM (B96)/Chicago, announced he had made the difficult decision to return to Phoenix to be with his family. It was also announced that The Morning Mess simulcast with sister KALV (LIVE 101.5)/Phoenix has ended, and Joey Boy will anchor a new local morning show currently under construction on LIVE 101.5.

That said, B96 is now looking to fill this rare opening on The Morning Mess, alongside co-hosts Aneesh Ratan, Jeana Shepard and Karla Hernandez. Qualified “multimedia superstar” candidates for this amazing opportunity are urged to study the official posting and apply online today! (ID 2023-5550).

Joey Boy enjoys a lengthy history in the Phoenix market, dating back to 2001, when he spent nine years with KKFR (Power 98.3). He joined former CBS Radio Rhythmic KZON (101.5 JamZ) — now KALV (Live 101.5)Phoenix in April 2013 to do afternoons, and added APD/MD stripes a year later. In Nov. 2014 he moved up to mornings to launch the original Morning Mess. Aneesh Ratan joined the show two years later, and the cast was completed in Jan. 2019 when Jeana Shepard and Karla Hernandez joined The Morning Mess. In April 2022 the show relocated its base of operations to Top 40 sister WBBM (B96)/Chicago as that station’s new morning show while continuing to air on KALV.

Stay tuned for morning show updates from LIVE 101.5/Phoenix.
