O’Connell Doubles Up In Miami

• John O’Connell, PD of Entercom Alternative WSFS (104.3 The Shark)/Miami just doubled the size of his PD portfolio with the addition of Country cousin WKIS (Kiss Country 99.9) to his daily to-do list.

“We are looking forward to having John join the Kiss Country 99.9 team,” said Keriann Worley, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom South Florida. “His expertise and passion for Country radio, along with knowledge of Miami listeners will be an asset to the team. John is a remarkable leader and we are confident he will take on this heritage brand with vigor.”

O’Connell began his radio career in Boston at WXKS (Kiss 108). In 1995, he joined WPBZ (103.1 The Buzz)/West Palm Beach, the beginning of an 18-year adventure that also included WMBX (Mix 102.3), WIRK and WEAT (Sunny 104.3). He later programmed CBS Radio Sports duo WHFS-FM (98.7 The Fan) and WHFS-AM (CBS Sports Radio 1010)/Tampa Bay until their sale to Beasley in early 2015. He joined Entercom Miami in August 2015.
